HOT AIR BALLOONING
Albuquerque has become the hot air balloon capital of the world, and each October hosts the Albuquerque International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta, the world's largest hot air ballooning event. Over 400 balloons from all over the world are assembled for weekend mass ascensions and special events during the two-week event. During the rest of the year, balloonists take to the air on their own, often on week-end mornings. A number of companies offer balloon rides to the public.
