BIOLOGICAL PARK Albuquerque's Biological Park consists of a zoo, botanical gardens, and an aquarium. The zoo is small but progressive and growing fast with considerable construction underway. It uses the "open motif" that exhibits animals in their natural settings. There are more than 1000 animals living on the zoo's 60 acres, including a number of endangered species. Special exhibits include a children's petting zoo and a tropical aviary. Opened in February 1997, Albuquerque now has a wonderful botanical garden and an aquarium located not far from the zoo.
